About Women’s Housing Action Group
We provide support for women and men who are victims of domestic abuse in Rochdale, Bury, Wigan and Cheshire West and Chester
Women’s Housing Action Group (WHAG) is a registered charity that was established in Rochdale in 1981 to support vulnerable women. Currently, we provide support for vulnerable women who are homeless or threatened with homelessness and women and men who are victims of domestic abuse in Rochdale, Bury, Wigan and Cheshire West and Chester.
Supported Accommodation: We have 16 self-contained supported accommodation flats for homeless women, with a resettlement service and a Generic floating support service.
We also facilitate The Recovery Toolkit.
Clients aged 16+ DA floating Support for women and men. We also facilitate The Recovery Toolkit and the Freedom Programme.
The service is open to both MEN and WOMEN aged 16 + living in the borough of Wigan to access short term support on a one to one bases. Who are experiencing Domestic Abuse and want to leave the relationship/have experienced Domestic Abuse and want tenancy related support. We also facilitate The Recovery Toolkit, The Gateway Programme and Hold Drop-Ins.
Cheshire west and Chester:
This service is for women, men and children who are fleeing domestic violence and are in need of accommodation. We have the following:
Core Accommodation: We have individual units for women and children fleeing domestic violence. You will have your own room/s, living area, kitchen and bathroom. This service can support up to 8 women and their children.
Dispersed Accommodation: We have dispersed properties across Cheshire West and Chester for anyone fleeing domestic violence. Our dispersed properties provide flexibility and can accommodate larger families, men, and pets. You will have your own property with up to 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. This service can support up to 4 adults and their children.
Resettlement Support: provides support to adults (16+) moving into a Cheshire West and Chester tenancy following refuge or dispersed accommodation.
Medium Risk and Community Support: supports adults and young people (16/17) without children who have been identified as medium risk who are currently experiencing domestic abuse or have experienced domestic abuse.
